Dear Customers
I am Alan Guo, founder and CEO of LightInTheBox. Here it comes with my second product review. As I said before, all the reviews I publish will be written by me personally with my personal experience with playing the product.
Let’s talk about the DOOGEE DG550 5.5Inch WCDMA 3G Dual-SIM Android Phone today. I got a sample about 2 weeks ago and have played it for quite a while. As a reference I have used iPhone 4,5S, iPad Mini, Samsung Galaxy S3, and Nexus 1 as my first Android phone. So far I have really enjoyed the DOOGEE DG550 (otherwise I would not write about it, haha):
(1) Very nice and serious packaging, as you can see from the pictures I took
(2) Big 5.5inch screen with high resolution (1280*720). It would really save your eyes, if you read a lot. I have to say after using the 5.5inch screen for a while, I can’t go back to my iPhone 5S. To me the 5.5 inch is a perfect form factor – it is large enough for you to skip your iPad Mini, and small enough for you to still call it a “phone”, which means you can put into your pocket. The edge of the screen is very thin, which makes the phone look nice and sharp.
(3) Great computing power – Octa Core CPU with 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM. I am not a hardcore gamer so honestly I feel nowadays the phones are fast enough so I don’t want to exaggerate the impact of computation power much here.
(4) Good Android experience – it comes with Android 4.2.9, which is a rather stable version and it does not mess with it too much and just kept it clean and simple. It does come with official Google Play, rather than some strange 3rd party app store, to keep the users safer.
(5) App compatibility is very good. I tested more than 20 apps, ranging from video to ecommerce, and most of them run very fast and never crash.
(6) 3G standard – it supports WCDMA 850/2100 MHz, and GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
(7) 2 SIM cards to support 2 phone numbers – one micro SIM size slot and one standard size slot. It is a . When you put the SIM card in, make sure you don’t put the SIM card in the wrong direction.
(8) WIFI and Bluetooth 4.0 Connectivity – WIFI is very stable and fast; Bluetooth is also fine – it took me a little longer to pair my Bluetooth headset than my iPhone, but I was told it is an Android general issue for slower Bluetooth pairing than iPhone- check out my Bluedio B2 Bluetooth headset: http://www.lightinthebox.com/bluedio-b-color-music-over-ear-wireless-bluetooth-headphone-for-mobile-phones-and-personal-computers_p1223742.html
(9) Big battery – 2600mAh, supporting up to 5 days of stand-by time (I tested this, which is true) and 3 hours of talking time (I didn’t test this one).
(10) High quality dual cameras – 13M Pixel (rear) and 5M Pixel (Front)
(11) One more thing…a 8GB SD Card as free gift!
To summarize, this DOOGEE DG550 5.5inch Android phone is the type of devices I would like to keep using and I have nothing to complain about.
Enjoy your phone!
